Yes, when one’s profile changes from IP1 to IP2, we get a mail about profile updation also the background status in the applicant’s profile changes from “Background check is in progress” to “We are processing your background check”.

I came to know about it through an agent when I called up in Jan 2019, also in the PPR mail it is mentioned Pirmary Office: CPC-Ottawa

The status changed to Application/profile updated instead of submitted. And when you open the full profile nothing changes as such. After re-login it again came back to status as submitted.

I called IRCC at around 2030 IST yesterday. And get connected to an agent on my first try itself. Although she didn’t give us much information and just told us that background check and eligibility are under review. Criminality and Security didn’t start yet.
