so as i understand it you get an implied status to stay in the country from OWP while putting in my PR application but do i need to bring anything with me when flying/going through customs to prove ill be there legally for an extended period of time?

So for an inland app i live in the US my spouse in Canada do i need a visa of some sort in order to stay long term while we put an application in or would i be able to just move up there and put the application if after im there, I know all i need is a passport to go into canada i have done that...
