Our attorney submitted on May 28, was received July 11 and on July 12 we received our AOR. We have heard nothing since. I am coming from the states, sponsored by my Canadian husband. Ours should be very easy.

July 12 I did receive the AOR, but nothing since then. No SA or medical exam request.

Our application was submitted and received May 28, processing began July 11, we received ROA on July 12. No news since.

How long was it from application to hearing you were approved as his sponsor? Following that how long before he had to have his exam and have you heard any response from that?

When you say background check, are you referring to your sponsor or yourself? Have you had your medical exam yet?

I guess I sit tight for my attorney to respond to my email now and see how our application was filed. Being a good attorney they would know one is processed quicker than another and they would have gone that route for us I would hope. If filed Outland, what is the average it takes?

Nothing yet as far as SA. Is there an approximate timeline to see these things come through? Do you mean a copy of the forms sent for our application?

No med request yet. I’m not familiar with what SA is.

Is there an indicator on the application number or anything else to show one vs the other? I have emailed my attorney’s office but I am now very curious. Also, is there a chance our application could be approved sooner than 11-12 months if It was filed as Inland?

Honestly, I’m not sure. We started the process when I was still in the states, but application was submitted 5 months after I arrived in Canada. I’ll have to check with my attorney. Why the discrepancy in time between the two types?
