I am just curious, does the entry visa expire one year time from the date the medical was done or does an individual have 1 month to enter Canada before it expires?

I sent my file on May 2nd, and it was transferred to LVO on September 26, 2018. I am still waiting for background check to begin. I am not sure how strnage2's process is done already. Maybe he/she meant March 22, 2018?

My time line is similar. However, my file was transferred to LVO on Sept 22, 2018. Currently waiting, it can take between 5-8 months in LVO before decision is made

I am may 2018. I haven't received anything since LVO. However, I believe they are working on February 2018 right now.

Are you the husband or wife being sponsored in the relationship? From what I have seen, its been taking longer for husband being sponsored to have decision made.

Is pre-arrival letter the letter that indicates that your file has been transferred to the London visa office, or is it completely something else?

How does one find out if the background check has started in London, if you haven't signed up for GCKEY and use ECAS? Do you have to call IRCC every few days and listen to the automated message?

Same thing happened to me. However, recently my file went to London visa office. If you sent them what they need, then your file should be send to LVO soon.

You should be getting your decision made soon, my cousin was in background check for 8 months as well, then on the 9th month everything was finalized. However, every case varies. So there is no guarantee

Is 12 months in total from the time the application started processing here in Canada or is that 12 months since the file reached LVO?
