Applied on 1st August now application is on background check and it’s been 98 days

Hello guys , I applied on 1st August 2018 for September intake at Ahmedabad VFS they forwarded my application to Bangalore VFS and now I’m stuck at background check it’s been 98 days the good thing is I lost my intake and still waiting for approval is it normal?
