Actually i wrote menus first in question booklet after listening, then when i checked i found there was "a" so that's why i remember that one clearly.

It was "a" before the blank so it had to be strictly singular only. In audio he mentioned about menus because he was referring to two restaurants and in answer we were asked only about one of them.
I agree with you too because i feel it's pretty obvious you got to buy tickets(unless they're free) for ferries to travel on them .So i don't think that has to be specifically mentioned.
But in normal circumstances only where it is mentioned you may use more than twice there only we use
