For those interested, this morning the Background Check status in the MyCIC system of my application changed from Not Applicable to We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Mine is the same as yours. "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility."

I've seen it said on this forum that some people's background check status never chances from "not applicable" and they go straight to getting...

I am also an early April applicant. I just checked my ECAS and THE "Sponsorship Application Status" changed to "Application Received" as well. I wonder if this means that they are about to start the background check? I don't think it's a sign that something is wrong....i hope it isn't!

My OWP just got approved! Valid for two years!

My OWP application received date is April 2nd and I haven't heard anything yet. as @Vivian-inland said, hopefully this week April folks should start seeing OWPs being approved.

Is the primary difference the timing? Are you able to share the source of where you're getting those number from? Thanks!
