Go to the CIC website, working in Canada. Different jobs require different paperwork. If your job falls under the NAFTA agreement, you may not require a labour market opinion from a proposed employer.

This website has a self-assessment, you should try it-it is pretty accurate in giving you the number of points. They separate work from school. You will receive certain points for education, and certain points for work experience.

My understanding is that it is a totally different process, but might expedite the PR process. Your medical tests will be separate I believe
