I would go to a local police office to have them do the fingerprint, rather than you doing it at home. The likelihood for you to get it properly done is probably very low. You would want this process to be as smooth as possible.

I don't have your situation, but either send them an email or give them a call and once they locate your fingerprint card from their mail (presumably, you used a tracking number on this), then they will process it and have your certificate ready within hours. Definitely less than 3 days...
