6 months in Canada, then forced to spend 6 months ELSEWHERE before returning?

Is there really no rule that says that those who have spent their 6 months on a tourist visa in Canada have to wait another 6 months before coming back again? I know that there are visa extensions that allow a person to stay longer for consecutive periods, but outside of this, I had always...

    Spousal sponsorship

Can anyone tell me exactly what sort of disability benefit the sponsor may be on and still make a successful application? Apparently it needs to be permanent? Does this benefit have a name? Does anyone know anything about this?

    Spousal sponsorship

Thank you for your help so far, Ravs1988. Would me being in Montreal as a visitor amount to "valid status"? I had always heard that it was not possible to go directly from being a visitor to any other visa and that it was necessary to leave the country to apply for another visa.

    Spousal sponsorship

In the first post of this thread it says that OWPs may take 2 years to arrive in the event that an interview is required. Can I be sure that my visitor visa will be extended while I wait?

    Spousal sponsorship

If I come to Montreal on a visitor visa and I get married and my sponsor begins an inland spouse application while I’m there does this qualify me to stay in the country until a decision has been made on the application?
