Taxes based on (American citizen) Canadian PR married to Canadian.

Maybe not, but it was worth asking. I’m sure others are in the same boat and have experience.

    Exporting/Importing a car

My husband got his Canada PR status, and now we need to bring the car across from the USA to Canada. We went into the Canada border and they gave us a number to the American border. Apparently we need to export it 3 days before we import it?? My husband is going to talk to the american border...

    PR documents, now what?

But, if he goes back and forth everyday to come and go to and from work, he has to have a PR status to re enter Canada, or they will question if he is living in Canada illegally? I understand he can still cross as an American as a visitor. But my questions were more detailed to when to get the...

    PR documents, now what?

My husband works in the US. He just got his Canada PR documents. We haven’t validated them yet because I’m getting mixed messages online. Once we validate them at the border, it says it takes 45 days to get a PR card. Then it says If he leaves Canada, he won’t be allowed back in without the...

    Confirmation of Permanent Residence

We just received the approval, and I have a few questions??? We have to find a place to rent across the border in Niagara Falls Ontario, and get all of the loose ends tied up with my husbands job and our house we own in Niagara Falls NY. We want to spend a few months getting all of that done...

Living in Canada and deciding where to work?

He pays $600 a month right now for health coverage. We don’t use it. And...The deductible is too high. OHIP may or may not cover certain amounts in the US, I’m not counting on that. But I think I will look into other insurance. His car right now covers accidents.

    Green card and PR card

Thanks I figured that, but wondered how they know I’m not living there anymore. And, I wondered if we pull up to the border and hand them our passports and my husbands PR card. And they go..... wait a minute, weren’t you here last month and you had a greencard, which means you live in the US...

I’m looking up travel insurance, and see how much that costs.

Living in Canada and deciding where to work?

That’s what I was wondering also. He pays over $600 a month for US health care, which barely covers 80% and has a huge yearly deductible. I’m wondering if travel insurance outside of Canada is cheaper.

Living in Canada and deciding where to work?

That’s not really a factor that we are worried about. I will qualify for CPP, and if I am married and my spouse doesn’t receive any, I will get more. But... I also looked it up. if he’s in Canada more than 10 years before he apples, he will get a portion of cpp. That means at 68, he can apply...

Living in Canada and deciding where to work?

I am Canadian, my husband is American. We are living in the USA until his visa comes in, then moving to Ontario. He is 58 years old, and will retire in 4 to 9 years. He works from home as a medical coder for a company in western USA. He can’t get them to budge, as far as him continuing to work...

    Medical exam

I wish we were so lucky. We will be late with her medical. The Doctor refuses anything else but her passport. I will write a letter to immigration and stating why we are late. It’s the Denver location she has to go to since she’s in Cheyenne Wyoming. I even showed them that it says other ID is...

    Background check

Sorry, I didn’t see your reply. I asked another question, on another thread. Thank you. Where do I send the explanation. I wanted to send it email and by mail, and I wanted to make sure I had the right addresses. I wish there was a phone number, but there isn’t. Thank you for your help
