Only principal applicant (person being sponsored )receives AOR, and sponsor gets separate email that documents are in process. Not sure what approval do you mean?

Well, firstly, people who are looking for the response are going through all the comments. And mine would be “the latest”. It took us to get AOR 54 days.... CIC got docs on Oct 19,2017 and AOR was got on Dec 12, 2017. Applied under Family Sponsorship. Unfortunately you cannot find this info on CIC site. But going through tones of comment the average time is 50-90 days to hear from them.
