    What exactly do you mean by OWP not tied to Sponsorship Application? I was under the impression that spouses where eligible to apply for an open work permit as soon as first stage approval was done in the sponsorship process.

    I haven't but will apply very soon (within a week). Just need to have an idea on how long until my wife can work since the OWP application will be submitted at the same time.
