Hi! Hubby completed his medical on April 03 and passed and doctor forward the required documents. So now we are just waiting. Anyone know how long it will take to finalize?

Does your husband have PR yet? My husband came in March 2017 from the US we filed his paperwork and received an open work permit and has a sin. Does he file taxes here?

My timeline is below and we received the OWP last Monday in the mail. We were not able to link the OWP so did not know the status prior so were surprised we got it within 3 months.

We went through a channeler as my husband is a us citizen. I think it took about 5 days for the email and then few extra days after it was mailed to us by his family in the US.

We received open work permit in the mail today; my status updates are in my signature.

Status update: We received the open work permit in the mail today, dated September 26 and valid for 2 years.

We paid the 255 but I do agree that it was rather confusing on the website and I was lucky enough to be able to double check with an Immigration lawyer and reading the info on this forum.

Yulia, can I ask why you have indicated not for longer than 3 weeks? I have tried to get an answer from IRCC regarding travel for my spouse (US citizen & Nexus holder). We do not anticipate any travel that would be that long but just curious if that is the magic number?

Thank you for this information, we actually decided to cross the border into Washington and having the fingerprints done at the local police station and mailing them to a channeler who will have the results within 7 days. Total process ended up costing less than 100 US. Definitely worth it...

This is very helpful, we did a bit of a digging around and found out we can go to a police station across the border in the US and send it to a channeler that will process it within one week and mail to a US address. I will look into the route you have given as well for a place in Vancouver...

Thank-you that was very helpful, is CII Fingerprint a channeler for the FBI as I heard if you go through a channeler you can get the results a lot quicker.

Can someone please how to get the FBI fingerprint testing done for my spouse as per IRCC request.

Do you know if it was received via a text message if you opted for that or by delivery notification? Maybe if you don't hear anything you can call them tomorrow.

Hi, can someone please tell me how my husband is to obtain the letter from US FBI as it has been requested after we received the AOR. We are currently in Vancouver BC. Is there any place across the border to do this quicker?

Maybe post this as a new thread so that others can chime in that can provide advice. I feel bad for you guys but don't really know what direction you should take. Were you given reasons for the first refusal? Did you have a written contract for the fee with the lawyer? Maybe you can take this...

I was about 5 days before you when the application was submitted and we received AOR a week ago. I assume it will be sometime this week for you!
