I find that strange too that it only took 6 months. I know if you apply as a tourist then it could be 6 months or even shorter than that.

We applied July 2011. Medical were received in Feb. Got passport request June 26th. My sister in law was 19 years old when the application was received by CIC. She will be coming with my in laws as a permanent resident.

yey !!! we got VISA today. It was super fast. Drop off Passport on Monday and got text to pick up VISA today.
