Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I am now officially a permanent resident, finally! I mean, I've always felt Canadian as I was raised here, but it's such a relief not to have to worry about paperwork (study permits, etc) anymore. My appointment was at 10 (in Etobicoke). I arrived at 9:30, got my ticket and still had to wait...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

I don't know, I've lived here my entire life and they didn't request fingerprints or an RCMP check. I think I have a "common" name but oh well. I got lucky I guess - Background check starts after you've submitted Schedule A. Have they requested that yet? For me it started about 2 months after...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Just got an email about my landing interview! Next Wednesday in Etobicoke. It's finally over! I will probably come back to post about my interview experience (but I don't expect to be asked too many questions considering my application was simple and straight-forward) Some thoughts: - The most...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Great news! (July 31 applicant) Just received a message that I passed eligibility (I think it's AIP. Basically "You meet all eligibility requirements. PR is pending on passing medical, background and criminal checks, etc") My partner received an email telling him he passed sponsor eligibility...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Our timelines are very similar! I'm July 31st. Haven't heard anything since I passed the medical early April, no status updates either...

What do they check during the background (not criminal) check?

That makes sense I guess (Lots of people applying) I was just curious because it seems like it's the step that's taking the longest time to process. I actually haven't had to submit anything from Iceland, as I grew up here, I only had to submit a Canadian police certificate.

What do they check during the background (not criminal) check?

My background check has been "processing" since December. My full timeline is in my signature, but long story short I haven't heard anything since I passed the medical exam last month. I'm just wondering what the background check entails. On myCIC they seem to have a separate category for...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

My Ecas status changed from "Application received" to "In process". No new updates (last one was "Medical results have been received" 3 weeks ago). What does it mean? Am I getting close to "Decision made"? Nothing changed on myCIC profile, they haven't started reviewing my eligibility.

That's fast! I'm a July 31 applicant, my medical exam status updated early April and I haven't heard anything since!

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

What's the next step after passing medicals (background check has been processing since December)? - Sponsor approval? (we got no Ecas number for my sponsor) - Passport request? (even inland?) - Email stating that they're going to start working on eligibility? "Decision made" on Ecas? I don't...

What picture will they use for my first PR card? Do they take a picture before/after the landing interview?

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

When I went to the police station, they gave me a certificate (that stated "Reason for request: Immigation) I told them it was for PR but they said it wasn't necessary. Could it be because I've never lived in another country since I was 18 (so I only had to request a Canadian police certificate)...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Are they going to request another police check (RCMP?) with fingerprints? So far my CIC file says "We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes." I went to the police station to get my certificate and they didn't take my fingerprints. Just wondering if I'll have...

    English mistakes

I fixed a couple minor things, but overall it's a great letter :) In the last paragraph I'm not sure if you meant "respected" (as in, people respect him because he's hard working etc) instead of respectful (polite) but both are correct

I just passed the medical exam! My background check has been processing since December. Does anyone know how long it will take for CIC to process it? How long until they start reviewing my eligibility?

Timeline after medical exam (Inland, Toronto)

Hey everyone, I'm an inland applicant who lives in the GTA. I sent my documents to the Mississauga address in July 2017 and CIC received my application on July 31, 2017. I'm applying under the Common-Law Partner Sponsorship program and I'm the only applicant (no dependents, no parents or other...

Yes that's normal. I'm a July applicant too (31st), I submitted schedule A + Canadian police certificate in October and they've been processing my background check since December too. They asked for medicals last week and I did them last Friday, but the clinic takes 10 days to submit them.

Maybe cheaper, the place I just booked my appointment at charges $40 for Xrays. Bloodwork and urine sample are included in the medical exam ($180) I did a medical a few years ago (expired now) and it's just a chest xray, not a full body scan. So it's not as expensive.

July Applicant and I just got my medical request too! Does anyone have recommendations for physicians in the GTA or Markham/Richmond Hill area? I know there's a list on the CIC website, I'm just wondering if some places are faster than others (eMedical instead of mailing results) EDIT...
