what is the certificate course about? It will depend on that your chances, and of course your experience, etc... it is the whole package you should be worried about, not just one thing...

You should get letters certifying that you have "freelanced" for your clients. Those can be in form of reference, but they have to state the way they know you. You would also need the income-tax returns...

My suggestion is have the same college take you... if you are planning on arriving withouth college, then they won't let you in the country, with more than enough reasons...

I understand the language is a way to measure your adaptability, so as far as you have a good level, then it should be no problem for the visa officer. I understand that Academic IELTS is not a requirement for the visa application itself...
