Yes, the assistant to the MP confirmed with their call that they have it. They also said even if they didn't have it, it shouldn't/wouldn't affect the OWP.

I didn't even know that existed to be honest. It says: "1. We received your application to sponsor X X X on November 9, 2016. 2. We started processing your application on November 30, 2016."

Should our eCAS should have been updated, or should we have received another email, if they have started processing it?

I forgot to mention, eCAS for me only shows: "1. We received your application for permanent residence on November 9, 2016."

The applicant has received two emails since we applied. The first one basically says: "This confirms that your application for Permanent Residence under the Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 09/11/2016" And...

I am unsure what you mean by this. Are you saying it's possible we caught them at a bad time, i.e. right before they were going to finish processing our OWP?

Yeah I hope so. I'm honestly completely in the dark. It'd be fine if I could at least contact, well, anyone, haha. I wonder how often people go to MPs if that's the case? If they can get better information faster then why is this the first I've heard of it? Only for special cases maybe I assume...

So for an update: I got in contact with the assistant to my local MP. They said I need to go to their office directly for them to inquire directly on my behalf, which I'll have to do later tonight (if I can make it after work) or tomorrow. They also said they are aware work permits in general...
