I'm also waiting from 2015. We applied in July 2015. Medical expired and was redone May 2017. Background check in process since April 2016. We have a whatsapp group with other 2015 applicants - let me know if you'd like to join.

They can take a looooong time. I'm waiting for my husband's background check and it'll be one year on April 16th. He's in Lebanon. How long have you been waiting for?

Where can we find the CIC complaint webform? I agree. We all have to keep emailing and pushing them to actually do their jobs.

My MP said he couldn't do anything as it's in the security verification stage. Let us know if it works and I'll try to contact someone else.

It's so ridiculous, I went to the embassy in Beirut when I was there last month and they wouldn't let me in because I didn't have an appointment and they only make appointments by email. Inshallah we'll all hear something soon.

Applied in July 2015 Waiting for background check to be complete

hahahaha within 48 hours :o I misread the information on the site. When I emailed about my app they said I could try to apply for a temporary residence visa but there is no guarantee he will be approved. Hopefully you hear something soon.

Has anyone tried applying for an open work permit for their spouse?

They've told me to contact immigration... The emails I've sent my MP, the Embassy in Beirut and CIC here in Canada say the same thing about security verifications. Some say to contact to be sure your file isn't forgotten and others say it holds up the process. How long have you been waiting for?

Inshallah he gets it before then. When did you start the application process?

I've contacted CBSA multiple times and they won't provide any information. My husbands application has been with them since April 2016
