I have the same situation. CIC account says we need additional docs but agent reassured me that they have already received everything they needed. For some reasons they won't update my account and it's very frustrating . Why wouldn't they update my account :-(

Who did sponsor last year ? If it was your spouse than you are eligible to sponsor your parents.

Malayer, I'm sorry but I think you just got all twisted information. These rules only applies if you have been sponsored as spouse and if for some reason you would like to sponsor your new partner( only in this case you are not eligible ). It has nothing to do with sponsoring you parents...

I don't think you have correct info. If you were sponsored on spousal program, you are not eligible to sponsor anyone within 5 years on of spousal program ( meaning if you want to sponsor new husband/ wife). I don't think it applies to parents sponsorship tho.
