I am in the same situation. Renewing your PR would take almost same time as your Citizenship application. You will just spend more money for no reason. PR would only help you to re-enter to Canada if you leave. Something I won't recommend. Be advised that you have signed "Intend to Reside"...

Even everything in your case be similar to him, how do you know your officers are the same as well? Everything depend...

You never know. People in the same office got IP in 3 days when mine took 24! It will eventually happen, be patient. Based on my understanding, FP will be requested once your application is in process. So FP request shouldn't have anything to do with delay in IP.

I called CIC and they told me my application is still in Sydney! :-\ I thought when you receive AOR (mine was 17th May), it means that they have checked your application and it is fine and they will forward it to the local offices for processing. Does anyone know anything in this regard? why my...

yes, this is a valid point and concern. Kind of longest processing times compare to past 2 months. Some have just received AOR after 20 days, I am waiting for IP for 3 weeks now, and no one has received test invite yet! :-\ :o

Can you call them for such concerns (1 months waiting for IP) when they have asked to contact just if the normal process time (12 months) has passed !?

It is better to put in April as all your dates and data would be comparable with them. It would be better for yourself as well to be in April for better understanding of your dates and processing times.

We were the only ones who have received AOR and still waiting for IP since 17th. Good for you, I am still waiting. This is ridiculous! Did you receive email for IP or just checked the status online?

I think my application might have been sent to Scarborough office. They are infamous for their slow process time (specially in case of arranging for oath ceremony). AOR 17th and still waiting for IP. For example they have scheduled only for 3 ceremonies for April in Scarborough when Mississauga...
