    I have not lived in Canada. I am assuming going to school on a canadian scholarship qualifies as work sponsored by the Canadian gov; but I'm not sure.

    I applied for citizenship five years ago. It got RQ'd and then after the test, it required a hearing...which is scheduled now!! Meanwhile, until a few months ago I was study outside canada but I was on a scholarship by the Canadian government. And my PR card is expired and given the citizenship...

    I am an American citizen and I have PR status. My PR card has expired and I have not traveled back to canada for a few years. Note that because I was partly working for the canadian gov, I think I have not lost PR status. That is, however, a difficult thing to prove to an airport customs...
