Applied June 24th 2024. Biometrics approval Letter December 31st 2024. Approved Jan 3rd 2025 (notified Jan 4th 2025). Work permit received in Jan 16th 2025. 206 days from Application to having the work permit in hand.

Just an update on Work Permit Delivery time. I was approved 3rd Jan, Receieved the notification 4th Jan, and the work permit just arrived in the post today, 16th Jan. Goodluck everyone!

I just received my work permit approval letter, physical permit is being posted to me. Timeline for In Canada Work Permit (initial): Applied Online via GCKEY: June 24, 2024 Biometrics Validity Letter: December 31, 2024 Approval Letter: January 4, 2025 194 days total. Wishing you all the best!

Today i got my Biometrics validity letter (biometrics were given in 2022) so someone has opened my application. Im hoping the answer (approval or denial) will not be long now, but with the new year holiday i dont know. Its movement.. so thats something. I obviously want an approval but at this...

187 days waiting. Online account says still in background check. I dont know whats happening or why its taking this long. I have just requested my GCMS notes through an ATIP request. Hopefully that provides some clarity.

Nope, 176 days and no word yet. I am in contact with my MP, but it can take a while for them to hear back too. No choice but to continue waiting. I dont believe IRCC closes for the holidays, except Dec 25th and 26th.

Today im 171 days waiting, and the Average processing time is 171 days. I already have my MP involved and they are super supportive, so hoping i get the best christmas present ever and hear something soon.

OWP approval today!! Such a massive relief! My status ran out today, so that's literally on the day going to be cancelling my visitor extension!

You dont need a study permit for online courses anyway. Only to attend an educational institution and only if the course is longer than 6 months total duration, not just the section youre doing, so yes you're fine.
