Yes, I applied online aswell. I have a feeling that depending on your initial answers to the questions in the application, it takes different amounts of time. Good luck sonnabend! Did you apply online or by paper? I received a few emails stating the application was updated but nothing shown on the website, and finally, after 5 days, it was updated with the passport request. A friend of mine got approved in under 24 hours, also from El Salvador!- montrealguy19
