    Thank you so much CDNPR2014!!! One more thing, my husband received his COPR and planned to land in Dec but has to cross into Canada this month for work. Does he have to do his landing the first time he enters or can he wait until Dec to do it as planned?

    Sponsor Approval and Tax Status

    You are supposed to include an Option C for the last year of your taxes so just my opinion, I would catch up on your taxes. I think it's also a way for them to check that you aren't receiving any social assistance.

    If you are the Canadian sponsor I don't think it necessary for you to send your own passport photos. You don't want to confuse them

    Update...my husband received his COPR this week and he has until next August to land. Im really surprised at the length of time they give him, however he will be landing in Dec. I'm truly impressed with how quickly this all went :)

    His accountant uses my social insurance number, as he files married. I don't have a social security number. He doesn't report my income, however I do report his as we are supposed to. The reason for this is because in Canada it affects any credits we are entitled to such as working income tax...

    I am Canadian and my husband is American. He has always filed married filing separately and all that his accountant requires is my SIN. I also filed married. When I fill out my income tax I do report his income on my return. Hope that helps
