We'll probably be using Blue Cross. And yes it has to be from Canada.

Their passports are still pending for renewal. So at this point no. I also heard that in order for one to get the maximum validity of the super visa,their passports needs to be valid for at least 4-5 years. Otherwise you get the 2 years. Lets just hope for the best for now.

Just an update to all. I now know someone who recently got a Supervisa. My sister's friend's dad just got one this month & he's now here. It seems that "has strong ties to the home country A.K.A reason to go back" clause in the description of the Supervisa is somewhat nullified as their family...

The VOs dont take the amount you put into that slot that much into consideration. Especially if its this type of application. It's obvious that you will be their primary provider for the trip. I put around 4 to 5 grand when I applied for permanent residency + a job offer. It should be the same...

As we now all know the super visa is just a glorified tourist visa. Will it be possible for parents or grandparents to work casual or part time in Canada during their stay? Or must they apply for a working visa within Canada? & is that even possible?

#Calgary Kid Thats the spirit! As you've said I think the VO took your mom's application as a mere tourist visa application. Its obvious that not all VOs were alerted regarding the supervisa otherwise things would've turned out differently.

I was reading the main requirements for the super visa and one of them says "ties to the home country" how is this any different from applying for a regular tourist visa. My folks are old and jobless and i cant sponsor them yet due to the backlog. Thoughts anyone?

Almost ALL people who applies with PNP certificates gets PR, REGARDLESS OF PROVINCE. The only reasons for rejection are probably lying in your application or failing the medical exam. As for the timeline of 13 months, its the OVERALL processing time. Unless of course your file required more...
