I got the same mail and my visa was approved. You can't know for sure unless you have linked your paper application to online account. I had linked mine and hence I was able to know the status beforehand.

Me too got approval yesterday and stamped passport today

I told "got my stamped passport" and FROM my visa approval...not FOR my visa approval As far as I knw, ur CIC linking will in no way affect your visa processing timeline... Only thing is that it is better to link to CIC so that u can track the changes and get email updates
