I contacted the computer science department(graduate secretary) too and received a very disappointing e-mail. "Hello, The Industrial files have all been reviewed and there is no waitlist. We will continue to hold the files until mid-April and then “refuse” those that we are not making offers...

Has anyone heard from the university? I mailed the graduate department and they replied that they will hold files upto mid April and if after that the file is not selected they will send a refusal mail. Does this mean I am currently not on admission list?

I mailed the graduate secretary and he told me that they would hold files to mid April, but I have applied in MS in CS (Industrial Option) and I don't need a supervisor. You should e-mail the department to inquire about your status

Well getting into an Australian university (except a few) is a piece of cake. To secure admission in a US university is the most difficult but if you can convince a professor you are good to go..I don't know much about Canada as I am applying for first time and have no friends there..

I think you fall under the "Mature Students" category..the applicants with more than 4 years of experience are eligible for this category and they receiver early offers..btw best of luck! I hope we all get in :)

Sorry to hear about your rejections :( I read on the website of Ottawa that they need a minimum of 3.00/4.00 (undergrad CGPA) so I did not apply. I think you have a pretty good chance at Industrial Option in UVic because of your work experience!
