You can call CIC to check on your PR card's status. But DO NOT call too early. Call only when you're near to the normal processing time (currently it is 46 days). They do not ask for photos to everyone, unless the pictures you sent before would not meet the specifications.

Call CIC and ask them on the status of your PR card.

Update!! I just called CIC today and was told that my card was mailed today. So I should be receiving anytime soon. This is close to 46 days (CIC's current average time for PR cards).
