    Forgot to mention about refusal

Was this before or after Canada and the US started sharing immigration information? I'm about to apply for my Study Permit and have also previously been denied a US student visa. I've read about 50/50 on people saying I should and shouldn't tell them. (I'm from a country where I don't need to...

    Summary or Indictable offence?

Thats not what I meant about the 1%. I'm saying that I'll apply and tell them how it is and hope they view it as a summary offence even if it's only a 1% chance.

    Summary or Indictable offence?

Your original offence might have been 'lower' than mine, but since you didn't show up for court, and got arrested at the airport and then put in jail I doubt it is anymore. And my offence was outside the US/Canada, so they don't have access to it unless I give it to them. But thanks, any...

    USA-Canada database cross check.

I figure they will too! But that's another thing, since I'm not from the middle-east or certain countries in Asia but from Norway would they do "less" of a background check since, well, since it's Norway? Not saying they would do it on purpose but subconsciously. (Obviously mean no offence to...

    USA-Canada database cross check.

Just a slight update question? How do the CIC cross-check with the US? Like step-by-step. I'm from a country that does not need to provide fingerprints etc, so there is no biographic information that the CIC can use.. I also have a new passport with a new passport number after my US F1 visa...

    Summary or Indictable offence?

If it's a dual/hybrid offence in the country it was committed? Because Norway doesn't have dual/hybrid offences. You either get charged under one criminal code or another, and I got charged under the 'mildest' one possible in the norwegian criminal code. An example would be that in Canada...

    Summary or Indictable offence?

I've done some further research and I believe the offence I committed falls under the Criminal Code of Canada, Section cc. 380.(1)(b)(ii). This is an offence punishable on summary conviction. I just don't hope all they do is see that my US F1 Visa was denied and therefor they will deny it too...

    Summary or Indictable offence?

Do they automatically crosscheck with the US database, even if there is no reason for them to do so? I have a new passport since I applied for a US F1 visa. Which means a new passport number and my pages that had my old US F1 visas are gone.

    Summary or Indictable offence?

Hi, would my story below prevent me from getting my study permit? In 2014 I was fined about C$750 (close to the minimum amout possible), or the option to go to jail for 10 days instead of paying the fine. This is the only thing I've ever been convicted/fined for in my life. I've read different...

    USA-Canada database cross check.

Thanks for your answer. I just wanted to mentioned that I was not charged with anything in the US. This was after I left the US and had returned back home, which means I have no criminal record of any kind in the US. I got my 'general police record' and it does not show/say I've been fined for...

    USA-Canada database cross check.

Hi everyone, This might be a long read. This all took place a few years ago. I've previously been studying in the US, then I left because a close family member got ill. While I was back home I was working at a grocery store just so I had something to do while I was there. One day I forgot my...
