Thanks! I don't think the medicals had an expiry date as such. The visa however does expire. In our case it appears to be around 10 months after the date of issue of the visa. Approximately 12 months after the date the medicals were done.

Got the visas 2nd March 2017! The visas are actually valid until end of Dec this year! Thank you for all your help, tips and encouragement. To those who are still waiting, good luck and just hang in there!

Hi everyone. My parents have received the much awaited request to submit their passports. :) How long after the date on the visa do they have to actually enter Canada? Is it 6 months or? Thanks!

Finally some good news! My parents application was sent to the visa office in Tanzania in June this year. We received an email today asking for the RPRF, Medicals and Police Certificates. Hopefully we will be able to obtain and submit these within the next few weeks. Things are looking up! :)

Some happy news at last! I received the approval of sponsor letter in the mail yesterday. Our application has now been sent to the visa office in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania for further processing. The online info still states 'application received'! What's the next step? Would my parents be...

Yes I am stuck too. My application was received Jan 16 2014. There seems to be no progress whatsoever :(

I'm in the same boat too. No update in 2 years. My online status is still "application received". GCMS notes implied our application had barely been touched (a month back)...I'll ask for an updated version in another month or so...maybe then they will shed some light!? My MP basically quoted...

Thanks Scorpion. I did actually request for the GCMS notes recently and just got a response. It appears our file has barely been looked at. Perhaps there's been some progress since then....I certainly hope so!

Hi...I'm in the same boat as you. My application was received on Jan 16 2014, I got the confirmation email in June 2014. My online status is STILL application received. No update...! :(

You can reach CIC on 1-888-242-2100. They are difficult to get a hold of. I've found that calling first thing at 8am seems to be the best time. Good luck!
