    Yes it is as your degree might not be equivalent here in Canada. e.g some 5 year studies in Europe are Master's but here in Canada they qualify as Bachelor's. That is why ECA is necessary. Your application will most likely be refused if you did not attach ECA.

    6 months validity is always adviseable. Go and renew your passport now before it expires and before stamping.     Resign immidiatelly ffrom OINP and go with ITA!!!! This way less time, less stress, less money :) Besides now that you have ITA you are going directly for PR, you don't need ONIP to get you 600 more points.
