I don't think this is always the case. I have met students in Co-Op programs, who came without work permit and had to apply after reaching here. So it depends on the visa officer. On your LOA is it mentioned that you are in a Co-Op program ?

I got my Co-Op work permit along with my study permit. I didn't do anything differently, but when I got my passport back two letters were there, one for Study Permit and the other one for Co-OP Work.

If you were working after your graduation then it is not a gap. I graduated in 2004, applied under SPP, got visa and right now in Canada.

I went through the immigration last week and I was not asked for any document for prove of funds. I had my loan letter with me but the officer never asked for it. They wanted to see my : 1. Passport 2. Introduction letter from Visa Officer 3. Acceptance letter from College 4. Immigration form...

May be because your loan was based on FD and the VO wanted to know the source of that fund. It is not mentioned in the checklist to show the source of funds, but I think VO's want to make sure that the FDs pledged to take the loan are not temporarily arranged funds.

I have read someone commenting here that you are likely to get a response when you send a fax. So try sending a fax mentioning your Full Name, Passport Number, Date of Birth, Address, date on which you applied etc. FAX # 0011-41782031

When I applied at VFS Bangalore, they checked the forms and put the barcode sheet on the front. So I guess where you applied they would have done the same. Don't worry. Best of Luck.

Congrats !!! When did you apply and how many days did it took to get back your passport.

Unfortunately you can't, you will have to file under general category. Quoting SPP Checklist document: "Those who have previously been refused any Canadian study permit application are not eligible to apply under SPP"
