I think the photo request occurs for two reasons: 1) If they don't meet the mentioned criteria. 2) If the date they view your photo is more than 6 months since you received your COPR.

After we have linked our PR Card application to our Express Entry profile, do we get messages in our email or do we have to constantly check the CIC website? I did not receive any email when the status of "document review" had changed.

I faced problem as well while linking my application. Got through by entering the place of birth as given in passport (with same punctuations) instead of COPR.

I don't know how much time it'll take. I am expecting some update next week. I did not receive any request earlier.

I couldn't in the beginning, but later I could. I entered my place of birth exactly as given in passport instead of COPR.

I am not sure if you should inform the immigration officer that you are leaving. Just do your formalities and exit.

I think I am taking a little risk by returning before receiving the PR card. But sadly I have no options.
