Turns out the best method was the case specific inquiry, they have acknowledged receipt of all forms of communication but we received a separate email stating that the submitted information has been attached to our application for processing.

We included only the chat logs from the time we were apart ie. times when we were travelling separately for work otherwise we would have included hundreds of pages which I doubt CIC would even attempt to sort through!

If you have been living together continuously for at least a year then you can lodge your application as common law and update your file for the marriage in July, this may get the ball rolling sooner if you are indeed living together.

I live in a country with no personal mailing addresses so we have no choice but to have different residential and mailing addresses, CIC must know of these nuances or they wouldn't make it an option to have different addresses....or that is my hope!

Just looked into this myself - most lenders require 35% downpayment if the income you are using is not Canadian sourced income, we were told that after 3 months of Canadian source income the downpayment would reduce down to as low as 5%.

CRA did significant upgrades to their system last week so it should now be available to everyone who has their CRA online access setup. This makes it so much easier!!
