Money should be in local currency, but it does not hurt to have it converted into CAD at prevailing exchange rate of the day of your statement. It would be good to show last 1 year of statement of funds. Hope this helps.

Agree with all response Prashant. It is catch 22 situation. Not sure if you can travel between US-CAN in 2016 to show your intent to reside in Ontario and not move with bag/baggage. May be that may help. BTW, what documents does one need to furnish to showcase our intent to reside in Ontario...

So, if a person is Indian Citizen residing in USA for years, one can go to nearest Indian Consulate and get Police Clearance for a nominal fee. No FBI or background clearance required which I have heard takes months - at least 3? Please advise. Thanks.
