You're supposed to surrender your Indian Passport IMMEDIATELY after taking up another citizenship. At no times are you allowed to have an Indian Passport with another passport while travelling. You might be stopped from travelling and may even face penalties.

Wow!! 2 months just from acknowledgement to start of processing at Delhi! That's rough.. I thought the TOTAL time was 6-8 weeks for OCI from what is mentioned on the BLS/

What he meant was "easy files" after AOR. AOR is given in FIFO order and only if nomination slots are available. That means a person submitting later than you cannot occupy your nomination slot. But the processing of the files after that may be re-ordered for speed.

Since they have committed to process all backlog the 2015 applicants should be fine as long as the nomination quota of 2016 does not run out as well. Post that its a grey area and nothing has been announced yet. However, they should be able to process all backlog before that happens.

There will be intake of 350 nominations this year for certain but they might not be from this year's applications. There are still pending applications from 2015 and NSOI has previously committed that they will process ALL applications till Dec 17, 2015. Post that, if any nomination quota STILL...

Considering NSOI is taking around 9-10 months to process an application, you can expect your AOR sometime around May-June 2016.
