I have similar time lines. My dad retired from the Army too. Applied in Aug 2011. Mothers Security check completed in Jan 2017. My dad's security check is in progress since Nov 2016.

Medicals have expired in June this year. No new request from CIC for new medicals yet. have you received the PPR?

Thanks Abhi, I was able to locate the due date on the GCMS notes. It is scheduled for 1st Dec. keeping my fingers crossed, hoping they have a Decision Made. They have had my parents background check in progress since Sep 2016.

App Submitted : Aug 2011 PCC & Medicals : Jun 2016 (Passed) Add. Doc Request: July 2016 Doc submitted : Aug 2016 Back Ground Check in progress since - Nov 2016

In my case, It has been 10 months now since the back ground check was started. It still is in progress. Any one else in this forum with similar timelines with the back ground check? Is it normal for back ground check to take this long? It is just my parents on the application, no dependents.

Does anyone now the processing time at the New Delhi Visa office? I just cannot find processing times by Visa Offices on the CIC website. Thanks

Wow, this is so ironical. I am still waiting for the back ground check to clear 9 months on and here we have under the new rules files been completed in 6 months. The only thing that comes to my mind is CIC deliberately holding back the older applications.

Same here. Sent the same documents multiple times last year July/ Aug. Makes sense that paper work might have got simplified under the new rules but one would guess that the criteria for background checks should remain the same whether you fall under the old rules or new.

Don't understand how folks under the new rules have there applications completed within 1-2 years where as in our cases back ground checks can take that long. I am forced to believe that CIC is deliberately holding the old applications back.
