FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Yep, I have 38 of those: 25 (CLB 9 or more with a Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer) + 13 (1 year of Canadian work experience with a Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer).

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

I took the IELTS test and got the highest mark in everything except writing (got the second highest). That gave me a score of 133/136. So that's CLB 10 for reading, speaking, and listening, and CLB 9 for writing according to the break down I'm looking at on the CIC website.

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Yep that's what I already did. Just trying to find a way to increase my points since I only have 441, and that foreign experience would give me a big boost.

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Thanks Gagan89. I'm already convinced that co-ops in Canada (especially before graduating) don't count and I shouldn't add them in my work history. What I'm trying to find out is if I can count an internship abroad. However, you're absolutely right about what you said.

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Correct. When I sent it, it wasn't true (when we deduct my Canadian coops). Yes I have included it in my previous (refused) application, and it was from August 5th until July 11th of the following year, 40 hours per week. Does that slide in as a one year continuous work term? Also, I'm trying...

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

I see your confusion here. I was eventually found ineligible because without that year of experience in Canada, my points drop below the minimum for my round. That's why I was refused. Not necessarily because of the fact that I didn't meet that CEC requirement.

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Interesting! Are you saying that if I enter "0" in my Express Entry profile under "Funds available", it will only make me eligible through FSW? And it has no risk of being rejected because they would think I don't have enough money to survive in Canada? (even though I have a full-time job)

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Hey harshmaru. Yeah it's really frustrating, especially that I had received a letter just a few days before telling me I was found eligible, and should pay the RFPR fee, which seems to be the last step before the Passport request :( :( My AOR was November 7th 2015. No LMIA (I'm currently...

Paid internship abroad counts as work experience?

I see. That makes sense. In that case, I'd rather not take the risk when there are other ways to increase my points (even though they involve a lot of headache). I sent CIC a case-specific inquiry about this just to be sure, but they might take a long time to answer.

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

I only did a bachelor, and I am currently working in Canada. Not planning to do a Masters. You seem set though, good luck with your application!

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Hey Raj. I thought about going through an LMIA, but from what I read it seems to be a bit complicated when I already have a job (which is my case). From what I understand, they'd have to post a new entry in the job bank, and pretend like nobody other than me applied, and they really think they...

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

I see. You're right it seems to be a gray area, as I can't seem to find a straight answer for this specific case. I called CIC but the agent didn't know how to answer me and forwarded me to their case-specific enquiry web form. So I just wrote to them, hoping they'll reply sometime soon (they...

Paid internship abroad counts as work experience?

I guess that's what confuses me. How do you prove or disprove that something is part of my Canadian studies? I interrupted my studies after my 3rd year, worked in the U.S. for a year in an internship, and came back to finish my degree. What makes me question things is the fact that the agent...

Paid internship abroad counts as work experience?

My AOR was November 7 2015, and I'm in Canada, currently working on a post-graduate work permit. However, I don't think this information matters since I am re-applying again and I would just like to know if I can include my U.S. internship in order to boost my points. The following link seems to...

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Thanks for that, I just wish I had seen the link before applying the first time. While this explains that I shouldn't be including my Canadian co-ops, there's no mention of the internship I did in the U.S. (which was technically before I graduated by the way). May I ask how you know that I can...

Paid internship abroad counts as work experience?

Hello, Does anyone know if a year-long paid internship I did in the U.S. counts as work experience that I should include in my Express Entry profile? I already had a PR application rejected because they said my Canadian co-op work terms don't count, but the refusal letter didn't say anything...

FSWP Rejected! Need help to re-apply

Hey everyone, I applied for PR through Express Entry in November 2015, and everything was going really well according to the timelines I've seen here. I was even asked to pay the RFPR fee just last week which got my hopes up, then 2 days ago my application gets "Refused" (huge bummer), and the...

    Interest letter clarification (PNP)

Hey guys. I just received a message in express entry's inbox telling me that Ontario would like to consider me under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), now known as OINP. I have a score of 479, and I meet the criteria of the Federal Skilled Worker and the Canadian Express Class programs. So...
