Hey guys, For those who haven't been following my situation, I applied ont he 28th of June for my study permit but did not hear back at all from the embassy or the VFS in Qatar (which is where I applied from). So this Sunday, I went to Abu Dhabi to the embassy and sat outside the door till 4PM...

Congratulations MasudAli. Once you get the visa stamping done, could you just post on this group how long you had to wait at the embassy while they did it? I hope you get it done soon, and I look forward to hearing from you :)

@TahaAnwar I am a resident of Qatar and applied from the VAC here. However, I am considering making a trip to Abu Dhabi and standing in line to get my passport stamped on the same day. How sure are you that this practice is actually being followed? I mean, I dont want to go all the way there...

@Hope999 - When did you get your medical request? Just want to see how long it takes between submitting the medical and getting the passport request. Also, I am entering my 9th week (2 weeks since I submitted medical) and still no news from them.

I think what's happening is that they are approving most visas towards the beginning of September as they know that this is usually when classes begin. Let us hope that those of us who applied towards the end of June/start of July will hear back in the next week. The only problem for Qatar...
