Update on my wife's application: Test: 2 Apr 2015 DM: 8 Jul 2015 Oath letter date: 5 Aug 2015 Oath ceremony: 18 Aug 2015

Our MP has been following up with these Scarborough guys regarding my wife's application. They told him it may take up to 6 months after the test to be invited to the oath so, don't call anymore!!! These Scarborough guys are just bunch of ..... I am sick of dealing with CIC. Wife's timeline...

Wife took the test on Apr 2nd. DM since July 8th. No oath yet. They already ruined our summer vacation plans.

Seriously, WTH are they doing? Tired of this stupid wait. Application sent on July 2, 2014, test passed on April 2, 2015. Still no news about the oath.

My wife submitted her application on 2 July 2014. Passed the test on 2 April 2015. Still waiting for the oath.

Problem is, they don't take a few minutes to read the law.

Citizenship certificate is not a travel document. You need to apply for the Canadian passport. Here is the quote from CIC A citizenship certificate is a document that proves someone is a Canadian citizen. It is not a travel document. You need to get a Canadian passport to travel outside Canada.
