Not so sure about Ottawa but I know its usually a good thing to have your application retained in Mississauga, processing time is quick. So for Sydney it still looks like average time for people on here has been 6-7 months?

How long did it usually take to get a decision after making the application to extend?

On their website it says that any application to extend the stay must be done 30 days before the date it expires, so if they give me just a 3 week stay that doesn't apply?

I'm from a visa exempt country, just wondering is it common practice for the border official to write down a specific date to leave by, or is it almost always just the full 6 months? Thanks
