    Legal Status for outland applying?

The only thing that makes me nervous about the inland is the fact I will have no chance of any appeal should they refuse me.....otherwise I would do inland no problem at all.

    Legal Status for outland applying?

Thank you. I feel honesty is the best policy. But when you hear how bad it will be from other people, it's hard not to think about just saying nothing or be afraid. I cannot hide that I've been here for 11 years. So I might as well be honest about it. Thankfully my criminal checks will come...

    Legal Status for outland applying?

Thank you so much for your time. I asked this same question on another forum last night and got a totally different answer. So I am really feeling confused and frustrated this morning. I do as much research as I can on my own but it doesn't seem to compare to talking to people with real...

    Legal Status for outland applying?

If I have an interview, I will arrive back in Canada as a PR if approved...... If I do not have any interview request, then you simply wait for PR in the mail?

    Legal Status for outland applying?

Actually I've been told that being out of status does NOT make inadmissible???? That's the whole reason they allow out of status spouses to apply? And why would someone get a deportation order? When I originally came here, (before 9/11!) they asked for no passport, nothing was stamped or...

    Legal Status for outland applying?

Thank you for your advice. Someone else said going for the interview is a risk because I may not be able to come back but I can't risk applying inland and losing any chance of appeal (heaven forbid I need one)

    Legal Status for outland applying?

Thank you for your time, this is what I have been told before as well. As I remember it, you pick your preferred office somewhere in the application, correct?

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

Yes how you explain it is how I've always researched it and the same conclusion I have come to. I started another thread just to clarify it as others might also need this information. I realize I might have to leave for an interview, but the loss of any chance to appeal is too big a risk for me.

    Legal Status for outland applying?

This is a question stemming off another thread I started. I know in Canada a spouse does not have to have legal status to apply inland, does the person have to have legal status in Canada if they apply outland? (fyi it's related to my situation as I have been here in Canada (USA citizen) for...

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

Wow well then back to the researching. This is all so confusing. I thought legal status was not needed regardless of how you are applying. I guess that might be wrong.

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

Well we've actually been living together the entire time. My situation is kinda complicated but basically I am out of status and have been living here 11 years. I am applying outland and have been advised to be honest about the situation and I won't be denied simply based on being here that long...

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

Thanks for the explanations. As for photos from BEFORE the wedding, yes most of them are actually before as we just got married in August. I have hundreds from before and quite a few from events since (of course tons of the wedding and honeymoon)

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

We are married, not common law. So then just letters of support? Should they be notarized or something else specific?

Evidence of relationship - Two questions - Photos and References

I did use the search function for these questions but I got a lot of somewhat unrelated results back, as well as conflicting answers. 1. How do you send in your photos? All of my "evidence" is in digital form. Do I print these photos out or is it better to include the photos in a word document...

    Overstay situation////out or in?

Hi thank you. I understand how to get it now. My question is I should get that to legalize my status even though I plan on doing an outland application and saying on that application I've been illegal this whole time. ? If I did outland and did not require an interview, I would NOT be planning...

    Overstay situation////out or in?

O.k. thanks and no I didn't take offense. It's been hard not to work. Trust me. But thankfully my husband has decent work and like I said, I got some money a few years back which didn't make me rich but helped a lot. I PREFER the idea of being honest. I came here as a moron. Fell in love...

    Overstay situation////out or in?

Hi - Well this whole time I've been with my now husband who has financially supported me. My father passed away 6 years ago and left me some money which I have also used to support myself. For the past few years I took care of my best friend here who died of cancer this May. So I am here...
