Did you give correct email ID? Or may be your AOR is probably in transit coming in regular mail.

Getting AOR is still key because, we can then relax that our application is complete and accepted for processing.

I guess we are speculating here. To me, it makes more sense to use 'Date the application is signed'.

You better withdraw your application and resubmit with a later date again. If you withdraw it before they start processing, you can get your fee refunded. I am not allowed to post links but, check the cic website under after you apply section for details and form to be used.
