What kind of residency permit for *none* immigrant visa?

Well, thanks for your input but that means that the lawyer I had consulted about this gave me bad advice. For he said that I could come to Canada on a visitor's visa and then extend that for up to 2-3 years, before having to leave.

What kind of residency permit for *none* immigrant visa?

No option to extend that stay once I am there?

What kind of residency permit for *none* immigrant visa?

Hello World, I am a skilled IT professional (German citizen), but too old to apply for any kind of Canadian immigration visa w/o a sponsor. Please don't bother arguing about this, as I had numerous consultations about it with immigration attorneys already. But I heard about the option of...

Provincial Immigration Program with preferred skills requirements

Thx a lot for all your info, but unfortunately I only recognize the IELTS (which I got) among all your abbreviations. I'll have to google the rest later to figure out what they mean, but thanks a lot anyway.

Provincial Immigration Program with preferred skills requirements

It might be asking a bit much, but could you give me a hint as to which provinces might have included a need for skilled IT professionals in their program? Otherwise I'll have to forage through a dozen provincial websites to find out ...

Provincial Immigration Program with preferred skills requirements

Thx for your laurels, but I feel just the opposite. I was a fool for having wasted too much time trying to legalize myself in the States, when just up North Canada would have been the better choice all along. And then I missed the deadline for filing under the old system by a measly 2 1/2 months :-(

Provincial Immigration Program with preferred skills requirements

Hello Folks, I was directed into this forum over from my old thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/any-change-in-immigration-policy-imminent-for-people-50-of-age-t366144.0.html In short, I am looking for a provincial immigration program that would allow me to...

Any Change in Immigration policy imminent for people 50+ of age ?

But it was some chance, better than next to none right now. In my specialized field of expertise companies - or even internal departments - seldom like to let you go, once they spend the time and energy to get you up to spec. I am the kind of resource you just wouldn't allow to transfer out...

Any Change in Immigration policy imminent for people 50+ of age ?

Thx for your reply, but you see under the old system I could have offset my "age disadvantage" if my skills would have been on the preferred list. W/o any preferred skills list and age discrimination still in place, I got next to no (realistic) chance to immigrate. Finding an employer willing to...

Any Change in Immigration policy imminent for people 50+ of age ?

Hello, I wonder if the new government might return to old standards, that would offer someone like myself (53 years of age, computer engineer and IT Consultant with a multi-decade long track record of successful work as an independent) a decent chance at immigration to CA? Because my profession...

    Provinces that seek IT freelancers?

Hello All, I am posting in this section only because I didn't want to abandon my Canadian hopes, w/o having tried out any thinkable avenue. So first of all, sorry if I am posting in the completely wrong category here, but I was told to look for answers specifically in this section. I work as...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

@zardoz, thx for the link, but I filled out that form already when I registered on this website. I haven't gotten an answer yet - not even sure if anyone is checking that inbox.

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

scylla, I am also "giving officially up" here, because you just don't want to understand that merely "trying it out for trying it out's sake" is not an option for me. I need a reasonable chance to succeed here, and I am 52 years of age. All lawyers, and the Canadian Immigration Wizard, told me...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

Hello arkscan, I went to your weblinks, but truly most of them are useless to me as a legal amateur. That is what lawyers are used for, to interpret all that numerical gibberish. But on one link I stumbled upon the Express Entry Eligibility calculator again - which still wants me to apply for...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

Good joke scylla, really. You complain that my lawyers and the Canadian Immigration Wizard rely on outdated 2014 information, but then come back at me by posting me info from 2011: English/NOC/2011/OccupationIndex.aspx -> Clicking on the "Welcome" page link gets...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

Three law firms looked at my case. The first one even refunded me my advanced payment and the other two told me that I was a year too late with my application. In both of the two remaining cases I was the one trying to convince them to continue nevertheless. All of those lawyers looked at the...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

There is no NOC for IT workers of any kind - except Graphical (Computer) Artists, which most certainly wouldn't be me. That is at least what the official Canadian Immigration Wizard website told me - twice. What good does it do me if I just pick an(y) NOC and then it turns out I got no clue and...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

I don't know what you mean with "NOC", but both two lawyers (from separate offices), as well as the Canadian online "immigration wizard" told me that I had almost no chance to qualify under the Federal Program - because it doesn't list "IT <anything>" as an eligible category. Farm workers...

Immigration prospect for provincial visa as an IT freelancer

Hello All, I have a long and successful track record as a consultant in corporate IT, having worked for Fortune 500 companies over many ears. Unfortunately the recent changes in Canadian immigration laws have made it impossible for me to immigrate to Canada under the federal program. This is...
