I am presently in California with my boyfriend right now. Is it better if we both physically go to the Canadian embassy in Los Angeles and begin the process there? And would the interview be held there as well (if it weren't transferred to Mexico)

Are there ways to avoid getting called in for an interview? Although I would assume that one could be called for for any given reason or slight suspicion.

And then if, for whatever reason, the application is denied, he would need to remain in Mexico for the 10 years correct?

Ah, that makes sense. There wouldn't be any chance that it could be held at the Mexican embassy in Los Angeles?

He does have a valid Mexican passport. And we have been living under the same roof for over one year - does that not qualify as common-law?
