Visa - This does not authorize re-entry

Hello, What you have now is an extension to your previous visitor visa. Extended visa visa is not authorised for re-entry. In other words, if you leave Canada before your extension period is up (which in your case it is the month of May 2015), then you will be subjected to the original CBSA...

Visitor Visa Extension Confusion - Please Help

Hello again! Are you referring to the Family Sponsorship or just the visitor visa extension? Family Sponsorship, right now, the sponsor doesn't require to have a minimum income anymore if the sponsor is ONLY going to sponsor his/her spouse.

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

Ya. That's what I am saying. That's what the guide says now. If the guide says applicants have to maintain legal status, then applicants have to follow them. I really think following the guide is better than going to a representative. Sighs. After his AIP then he can apply for OPW...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

I think the rule changed in September or October 2014. If you applied before this date, the old rule applies, and you are okay as long as you have an eligible sponsor.

If you are not really sure, or you think we are not telling the truth, you can always call the CIC call centre at 1-888-242‑2100, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm except stat. holidays.

Definitely! Go ask for a refund!!! This is really infuriating that there are people out there who say crap that is not true to people genuinely asking for help.

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

Unfortunately, this senior lawyer is wrong. You do not have implied status. I understand how you feel. I was in your position before, I went to a place recommended by the CIC call centre agent to fill in my first OPW application and that consultant didn't know which was which resulting my first...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

Just by sending the PR application does not mean that you have implied status. Did your lawyer tell you that YOU have implied status or was it from your part? And Ponga is right. You might very well be out of status already. If it is your experienced lawyer who told you that you are certainly...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

There is someone who submitted in May 2014 and had her AOR in August 2014. My application was received in April 2014, I had my AOR in August 2014. It is normal, though, for people to not receive AOR. I think you really have to check with your lawyer if that is certainly "implied status" or call...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

AOR is just an Acknowledgement of Receipt. It just means that CIC received the application and that you have submitted the complete package for the Family Sponsorship and is in the queue of waiting to be processed. AOR doesn't mean you are on implied status. You can double check this, because...

You had a 6 months' visitor visa, what application did you send in? An extension to your visitor visa or the OPW application? When did your 6 months' visitor visa expire?

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

Implied status is a valid temporary resident status. Implied status is when you have a valid visitor visa or work permit, then before it expires, you apply to extend or change your status (e.g. extension of visitor visa, or change from visitor to worker), before you receive a reply from CIC...
