    Travel after Oath

I don't think the eTV visa has the requirement to produce the certificate. The only caveat is that you need to fly in/out of an airport which issues the visa. https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html I thought the surrender certificate was only required for applying for OCI (there is no...

New Canadian Citizen -US travel (have valid I94)

You must travel on your Canadian passport (if you have a Nexus card, don't use the Nexus lane till you update the passport details). Just bring the I-94 and give it to the US Border guys while crossing (tell them about you acquiring the Canadian citizenship), this is what I did. If you did not...

Strange issue after test: the online information of permanent resident appears!

Don't worry, it happened to me, I did not renew PR either. If anything, it is good news. I think they link up all your applications at some stage, just guessing. Once everything is done (after Oath) both will show 'Complete'.

    Vancouver Applicants

Congratulations !! You can sign the forms anytime. The forms have to be signed before you go to the window for document verification on the oath day, so you might as well sign it now. In the green form, there is a field for 'file number', this is optional (leave it blank if you do not know what...

    New PR card

A couple of my friends landed a few days back and they were told that the PR card could take upto 6 months due to some changes in the process. I am not sure what the changes are (probably backlogs), but looks like it is a long wait to get the PR card.

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

I think option 3. It's like going to a bank to deposit a check :), by standing in a line and going to which ever rep/teller is free. Its a random Cic official. You can stand in line anytime you wish. Like I mentioned before, it doesn't matter if you stand in line, first or last. You probably...

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

Just like interview, multiple CIC officers for doc verification. There is still the lineup, as you are serviced via the queue.

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

I got there early but the doors open only at 8:00, but better early. You have to sign at a couple places in the Oath invitation. In the green paper, there is a field for 'file no', don't worry about it. The rest is self explanatory. You are seated inside (after 8:00), then you line up to go to...

    Vancouver Applicants

Thank you! I applied on Oct, 2014. I am in one of the 'many' October spreadsheets, I got tired of ppl creating new ones every other week. It took about 10 months for the process. my timeline, if it helps. Applied (single applicant): Oct 1, 2014 AOR (email): Dec 12, 2014 Transfered To...

    Vancouver Applicants

Mine says the same, just diff dates. I don't think the webpage updates the same for everyone (as far as I read in diff threads here), its just random and insignificant data (everyone has something diff and only a minority of the citizenship applicants are here) to make sense of how and why...

    Vancouver Applicants

My ECAS changed from 'In Progress' to 'Decision Made', hopefully that is a good sign. Atleast something happened after 3 months of writing the test. Have been checking the ECAS and the mailbox almost everyday for the past couple weeks...lol. I had the test/interview on April 1, 2015. Calling up...

Does time as a visitor count towards Citizenship time

I have only read about the time spent as a Student or on a Work-permit being considered as pre-PR time. I am not sure what visas the Students are issued.

    October 2014 Citizenship Applications

Select "Client ID Number / Unique Client Identifier" in the Identification Type drop down and use the UCI which has 8 digits, in the format: XXXX-XXXX (with the '-'). The UCI can also be found on your PR card.

    October 2014 Citizenship Applications

I thought I was the only one with no status in ecas :). I received email AOR on Dec 12 and I was able to login to ecas on Dec 15.
