    If i recall correctly, those two documents expire 6 months after their date of issue, and must be submitted to cic before that date. the police certificate lasts 3 months i believe. i haven't read anywhere about people being asked to resubmit expired tohons, but some people just played it safe...

    I've been informed by a cic agent over the phone that the police cert only needs to by valid as of mailing it, so i'm not too worried about mailing a soon to expire police cert. The issue is it would take 3-5 months to get a replacement police cert. they don't mind if it's not technically valid...
