Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

My understanding is that since they changed the requirements (including ETA), this is no longer true for British nationals. Thanks for the info though.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hi all - I just got asked to send new photos despite having given new photos when I landed. So frustrated. Does anyone know how much extra time this will add to processing? I need to leave the country on June 8 and now I'm freaking out.

    An embarrassing immigration question...

I had a very similar experience to the person who posted, and I had my medical in Canada. I never once took my pants off, I had to take my shirt off for the xray, but was allowed to keep my bra on, and wore a gown. I was allowed to change for the xray in a private area. There was nothing...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

I landed this weekend (March 27) - the border guard told me 6-8 weeks for the card, although I guess looking at this thread that might be optimistic :/ He asked me if I have any travel plans coming up - when I told him I needed to travel in June (back to the UK) he told me if the card hadn't...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

Hi, They only asked to see passport and COPR. The questions were: 1) Had I been convicted or charged with any crimes? 2) Had I ever been refused entry / a visa to Canada? 3) Would I be importing any goods into Canada at a later date? As all my answers to this were no, it was very simple!

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

Hi, Because I am from a visa exempt country, I didn't have to do PPR and so wasn't asked for new pictures, although I understand some people are at this stage. I followed this guide when getting new photos: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf The...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

Hi, Here's what I took with me: Passport COPR Proof of address (driver's license) Current work permit A print out of my bank statement/ my insurance coverage A copy of my entire application, just in case New photos I believe if you're landing from outside Canada you have to fill in some...

    September 2014 - CEC Applications

Hi everyone, Just thought I'd share my landing experience at Peace Bridge (Ontario). We decided to go into Buffalo for a few hours so I didn't flagpole - however, the US border was fine. As I don't require a visa for the US I just had to wait to fill out a border card (approx 20min wait), pay...

    CEC October 2014 Applicants

Hi Catwilliams - I'm also from the UK and was not asked to provide my passport to CIC. What happened after the MR for me was: - I paid RPRF upfront (if you don't do this you will get an email asking you to pay) - My status online in ECAS changed from "in process" to "decision made" - My COPR...

ECAS UPDATE:We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application

I'm from a visa exempt country and I had not one but two lines stating "We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application". :) To be honest, my suspicion is that this means very little - maybe a quirk of the computer system that CIC uses, the same way you get a lot of...

PGWP for Seneca postgraduate certficate - 1 year programs are actually 7 months?

As per this page --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp I believe you need to do a minimum of 8 months in order to qualify for PGWP. My postgrad certificate was Jan-Aug in class and then Sept-Dec in co-op, but because the co-op counted as an academic term (needed to...

    Landing questions

Thanks so much for the details everyone! I'm hoping for a nice smooth process - I'm guessing it might be a little busy this weekend but I really don't want to wait any longer than I have to :D

    Landing questions

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to land either this weekend or early next week (will probably drive to Buffalo for a day trip and then head back in). I have a couple of questions about the landing process that I'm hoping people can help with! 1) On my COPR, my date of original entry into Canada is...

Changing status from Student to Worker

Hey, as a student, once you've finished your course you should be able to apply for a Postgraduate Work Permit, assuming the program you've taken has met the standards required by CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp As you've done a two year course, I believe that entitles...
